Fried Cabbage

A quick, cheap, simple meal.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 head of cabbage
  • 1 onion
  • some carrots

Spices

  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp garlic salt
  • 1/4 tsp powdered mustard
  • 1/4 tsp chili powder
  • some black cumin

Instructions

  • Heat oil in large cast iron skillet with a lid.
  • cut up onion and carrots.
  • Fry the onions in the oil for ~2 minutes.
  • Add carrots and fry an additional 2 minutes.
  • Add cabbage. cover with lid and let cook down for ~3 minutes.
  • Add spices and mix in well. Turn the cabbage so all of it gets a good coating.
  • Keep lid on and stir every ~3 minutes. Add water if needed. Cook for ~10 minutes or until done.
